A flash sparked across the sky,
but no one saw it.
A thunderous roar disrupted the quiet night,
but no one heard it.
The ground trembled,
but no one felt it.
The rain poured down,
but no one tasted it.
The wind carried a hint of sulfur,
but no one smelled it.
She had sensed the apocalypse,
but no one had believed her.
No one.
And that’s who survived.

For the fiction/poetry speakeasy grid, we had to start with the sentence: “A flash sparked across the sky” and use the empty alley photo prompt.

Oh, I love this Stacie! So dark and foreboding. And the structure and repetition you’ve used is excellent!
Aw thanks!
